The following Ocean Shores items will be on the ballot:
City Council Elections
The following Candidates have filed for City Council:
Position 1 - John Lynn

P. O. Box 2268
Ocean Shores, WA 98569
I retired to Ocean Shores in 2004 after 32 years of business ownership. I am an active volunteer in our community as I was in Tacoma. My business background, political involvement and Bachelors and Masters Degrees in business provide me with the knowledge and leadership skills to help move our city forward. I attend our city council meetings and listen to the concerns of our citizens. Our city’s challenges are many and I look forward to serving as your city council representative as we make Ocean Shores an outstanding community.

Position 5 - Jackie Farra and Nick Johnson
Jackie Farra

I have owned property and lived in Ocean Shores for more than 20 years.
Qualifications:
My career consists of leadership, business ownership and administrative positions. I have been a Business Owner, President of a Women's Business Owners Association, a Licensed Contractor, Bank Manager, and a clerk for the Superior Court. I am currently a Legal Assistant.
I believe that my past career choices offer the perfect fit of leadership and operational skills to represent the diverse population of Ocean Shores. My experiences will be especially helpful when considering city projects and contracts. I want decisions made based on facts. I will take the time to review proposals and information to the city.
Recent change in the form of government represented a new respect for the residents of Ocean Shores. I want that to continue. I will hold all of the council accountable for its votes. I will ask the HARD questions
Nick Johnson

Ocean Shores is no longer the sleepy village where people come just to camp and dig clams. It is a thriving city with city problems and concerns. Four years ago I ran on a platform of paved roads; pure, clear water; and clean waterways. We will soon finish our road project, our waterways are clean and we have a bold $6 million project from Federal Stimulus Funds to purify our water of color and smell. This project will begin soon at little cost to the tax payer.
Ocean Shores has become the destination spot on the coast of Washington. We need to continue to do all we can to attract tourists and conventions into our city. We need to work to make the downtown area attractive and inviting to our visitors. I promise to work toward that goal.
Because we are located so far from a hospital it is important that we provide high quality emergency services to our citizens by insuring that our Emergency Medical Technicians have the best training and equipment available.
If elected, I will assure citizens that our city will continue moving forward, keep the budget under control and the Council responsive to citizen needs and desires. I ask for your re-election vote.

Position 7 - Garland French

My commitment is to continue serving our community, to be a voice for the people of Ocean Shores and to continue working for open and transparent government. Some key priorities are financial management, better capital project status visibility and cost control, medical services, balanced growth and council oversight and leadership.
